Dina Radeljas is an Assistant Professor of Sociology at Mohawk Valley Community College. She came to Utica with her family as a refugee in 1995. Originally, Dina is from Bosnia which was war torn during the early 1990’s. During these years Dina and her family were refugees in Croatia and Pakistan before resettling in the United States.
Dina is a graduate of the local school systems including Proctor High school, MVCC and Suny Poly. She received her Ph.D. in 2014 in Psychology. She is currently an assistant professor of social sciences at Mohawk Valley Community College. She has also thought classes at Suny Poly. Dina is an active member of the college community as she spends time sitting on committees and councils as well as engaging with students outside of the classroom through clubs and events on campus.
Dina has done several public speaking engagements including a TedX talk in 2018 and several keynotes including the Human Rights Convention by the Model United Nations of Upper Mohawk Valley. Dina has also keynoted events such as the Honors Society and LGBTQ commencement ceremony. She engages in public speaking on a local lever often. Additionally, Dina is a published author of two separate children’s books.
She lives in Frankfort, NY with her husband and their 4 year old daughter. In their spare time they enjoy spending time with family, hiking, kayaking, camping and traveling.
